Privacy Policy
MeSH's information security expertise provides your company with an unmatched degree
of privacy protection. Highlights include:
- Encryption of confidential data not only during transit, but also while it resides in our database
- Control account access via your secure online account
- Use of Social Security Number is Restricted to an As Needed Basis
As you may already be aware, this heightened protection is unmatched in the field.
Social Security Number Only Used As Needed -
Many programmers prefer to ask for an individual's social security number upfront and then use
this as a unique identifier to track an individual. However, this introduces significant privacy
issues as it is then shared well beyond where it is needed.
MeSH uses its own unique identifier and so you will notice we only ask for social security number when
needed to fulfill a search. You might also notice that we don't ask for Drivers License number
as that also should only be asked for if needed to fulfill a search.
For more information on the importance of limiting the use of social security number, please
see the Electronic Privacy Information Center.
Account Access Controls
We restrict our employee access to your confidential information. You can change your password online,
and thus you can protect your password to restrict unauthorized access. Our Customer Support staff will
not ask for your password and are not able to look-up your password as they are denied access and it is
encrypted in our database. Our employee access is limited to that necessary to fulfill your orders or
to provide you support. In the unusual event that we do need to reset your account, you will get a
long convoluted password via e-mail, so that you will be motivated to change it quickly. This approach
minimizes risk that your password will be obtained from e-mail.
In addition, through the "Manage Users" section of our website, if you are an authorized representative for your account, you can
see and control who has active and inactive access to your account. You can also add new users online, including having such users
type in their password at your facility, which prevents MeSH employees from needing your passwords.
Data Encryption (Transit and In-storage) -
When you login to MeSH, the information you type in, and send to MeSH is protected by 128-bit SSL (Secured Socket Layer)
encryption. However, as updates are made to any application, MeSH has taken this a substantial step further by
also encrypting the confidential data in the database itself. This provides a solid added security layer to
protect your information.
Information Retention and Destruction -
MeSH shreds any hardcopies of confidential information and does not keep hardcopy files of such information.
The results of the background check are kept for seven years; except for data to which other laws apply, such as
credit, which has a six-month limitation.
Uses of Information -
MeSH will not resell or share with a third party other than necessary to fulfill your request.
Enforcement -
MeSH has a licensed private detective with over 25 years in law enforcement on staff. If we detect any breaches
that could affect your account, we will notify you immediately of the breech and the steps we are taking to address
the issue. If you have any concerns, or become aware of any potential security breeches, we request you contact
us immediately at: 888-988-MeSH
or Security@Go2MeSH.com.
